Utvikling og testing av fibertau for OTS

Abstract

Utvikling og testing av fibertau er en bacheloroppgave som er laget for produkt og systemdesign-studentene ved NTNU Ålesund. Oppgaven ble gitt av bedriften OTS AS som holder til på Valderøy i Ålesund. OTS produserer fibertau av typen høy styrke, lett vekt og ledende produsent innen syntetiske fibertau for driftsinstallasjoner på offshore olje- og gassmarkedet. Oppgaven består i hovedsak av å finne løsninger for: • Fibertype • Overordnet konstruksjon • Egenskaper på forskjellige deler av tauet ved ulike konstruksjoner For å løse disse oppgavene ble det gjort mye forskning og mange tester. I disse testene ble ulike parametere for overordnet konstruksjon testet. I etterkant av testene ble resultatene vurdert etter prestasjonene til de ulke konstruksjonene. Kandidaten mener at resultatet av forskningen og arbeidet som er gjort i oppgaven er en god start i arbeidet med å utvikle et eller flere nye design. Og danner grunnlaget for mer forskning innen design av nye konstruksjoner for tauprodusenten.

Development and testing of fibre rope is a bachelor thesis that is made specifically for product and system design students at NTNU Ålesund. The company OTS AS gave the assignment, which is a local manufacture located at Valderøy in Aalesund. OTS manufactures high-strength, lightweight and is the leading manufacture of synthetic fibre rope for operating installations on the offshore oil and gas market. The tasks mainly consists of finding solutions for the follow: • Fibre Type • Overall construction • Features of different parts of the rope in different designs To solve these tasks, a lot of research and many tests were underdone. In these tests, various parameters for the overall design were tested. After the tests, the results was evaluated according to the performance of the various constructions. The candidate believes that the result of the research and the work done in the thesis is a good start in the work of developing one or more new designs. The research that is completed forms the basis for more research within the design of new constructions for the rope manufacturer.
