For
dc.description.abstract | In Norway there are two known services one can use to perform GNSS-measurements, CPOS
and ETPOS. The activity in the ionosphere is one of the biggest sources of error that affect
GNSS-measurements today. CPOS and ETPOS are methods that can correct the impact to some
extent.
Norway is a country that is highly exposed to ionospheric activity. The reason for this is its
geographical location. The energy that the sun radiates goes toward the magnetic poles and
Norway is very close to the north pole. These concentrations of energy create a turbulent
ionosphere that affects GNSS-signals. Therefore, we will investigate the question: How does
ionospheric activity affect measurements performed with CPOS and ETPOS in different parts
of Norway?
To investigate the influence of ionospheric activity on GNSS-measurement results,
observations from 8 monitor stations must be analysed. The post-processing is performed in the
software Leica Infinity. Results from both CPOS and ETPOS should then be discussed and
linked to the survey among surveyors, that is performed in connection with this task.
What emerges in the analysis is that real-time measurements are to a much greater extent
affected, then measurements from post-processing. Several factors also emerge that determine
to what extent the measurements are affected. The various factors are level of ionospheric
activity, geographical location, distance from permanent geodetic station to receiver and time
of day. | |
