Grunnleggende ferdigheter i naturfag

Abstract

I denne teksten har jeg forsøkt å undersøke hvordan grunnleggende ferdigheter anvendes i naturfag. For å få innblikk i undervisningspraksis har jeg intervjuet en erfaren realfagslærer. Jeg har tatt utgangspunkt i sosiokulturell læringsteori for å få en forståelse for hva grunnleggende ferdigheter er, og hvorfor det er viktig innenfor skolens virksomhet. Datamaterialet inkluderer også to elevtekster fra et utforskende undervisningsopplegg og all data drøftes i lys av teori jeg finner relevant for problemstillingen. I analysen av intervjuet blir det lagt vekt på språket i naturfag, og hvordan læreren må ta høyde for individuelle forutsetninger blant elever. I drøftingen vurderes modelltegning som en egen grunnleggende ferdighet innenfor naturfag, og lærebokas plass i undervisningen.

In this bachelor thesis we will be examining literacy in science class. With the use of a qualitative interview of an experienced science teacher I will be discussing how to achieve literacy education. I am using sociocultural theory as a theory base to try to explain what literacy is and why it is such an important foundation in educational achievement. The data also include two pupil texts from an exploratory activity and the complete material is explored and analysed threw a lens of theories collected by its relevance to the topic. The interview will be discussing scientific literacy and the teacher’s responsibility to include a complexity of pupils. In the discussion I am assessing modelled writing and its topicality in a literacy perspective, and the use of textbooks in class.
