Predikasjon før og nå - En analyse av Jespersens avsnitt om neksus (1924), og sammenligning med moderne teori

Abstract

Formålet med oppgaven er å analysere Jespersen (1924) sitt avsnitt om neksus. Dette avsnittet blir videre knyttet opp mot mer moderne teori om predikasjon, og sammenlignes og vurderes ut ifra denne teorien. Oppgaven finner et samsvar mellom Jespersens avsnitt og den moderne teorien, men det viser seg at det også er mulig å argumentere for at Jespersens neksus-analyse er noe mangelfull sett i lys av moderne teori.

The purpose of the task is to analyze Jespersen's (1924) paragraph about nexus. This paragraph is linked to more modern theory of prediction through the task, and is compared and evaluated on the basis of this theory. The thesis finds a match between Jespersen's paragraph and the modern theory, but it turns out that it is also possible to argue that Jespersen's nexus analysis is somewhat deficient if seen in light of modern theory.
