Sammendrag
Production of electric power from floating wind turbines will be a bigoncoming challenge. Numerous Norwegian companies are working on differentaspects of floating wind power generation. The master thesis will be part of the 5 year project "High Voltage AC and DCSubsea Cables for Offshore Wind Farms and Transmission Grids" supported byThe Norwegian Research Council (Forskningsrådet). In connection with thismaster thesis its desirable to study the space charge distribution within thepolymeric HVDC insulation and accordingly the electric field distributionwithin the polymeric insulation. The master thesis is mainly experimental and will consist of measurements onboth flat samples and cables. Primarily the DC behaviour is of interest, butit might also be of interest to investigate how temperature gradientsinfluence the space charge distribution.
