Testing in any engineering field is a difficult task as it requires giving precise information of the product and how useful, safe and secure the product is. It isalso a tool to discover bugs within the product and if such bugs are present, suggest corrective measures to overcome the shortcoming of the products.Software Testing is more daunting and challenging task because the product it workswith is intangible and that intangibility makes it difficult. Any technique that helps in software testing is big plus. Use of oracles is one of such techniques. Software testing oracles are a tool that helps us answer the various problems arose from software testing. There have been few works done for using heuristics in software testing oracles. This Master Thesis titled Use of Heuristics in Software Testing is an effort to study more about the use of heuristics in software testing. The work done in this thesis is to know if the use of heuristic in software testing is a good idea or not and if it is a good idea, how do we use it to construct for a given component.nb_NO
