This thesis investigates the relationship between genomic parameters andproperties of the phenotype. More specifically, we claim that there isa connection between the genomic lambda parameter and the structuralcomplexity of artificial organisms, and that lambda can be used topredict this structural complexity. We use a cellular automata as amodel for developing artificial organisms. A measure for structuralcomplexity is defined and then used in experiments to try to findevidence to support our claim.nb_NO
