dc.description.abstractIn recent years steep mountain stream and step pool morphology have become the subject to more research in the field of fluvail morphology. This thesis investigates the relationship between slope gradient, step-height and keystone size in a steep colluvial mountain stream. It also investigates the impact of step-height and keystones on pool size. This is done by classifying step-pool morphology by using scale free rules from two length profiles, and statistical modelling. The results show no correlation between river slope and step-height or keystone size. Keystone size is found to correlate with step-height, but have no impact on pool size. Pool size is found to be controlled by step-height. Results show that watershed morphology and high colluvium content may be important for the formation of step-poolmorphology.nb_NO
