Sammendrag
The Internet is in continuous evolution to become a more intelligent web. The need for this has become obvious the past years, as the evolution of, and the need for services has undergone a considerable growth. An intelligent web can be referred to as making services, context and content interoperate using semantic methodologies. One example is focusing on context aware services that use ontology processing to deliver the best possible result to the user. These elements are central in our work. A framework and a scenario that describes the setting for our work is presented. This framework is expanded into other environments that all have their scenario. The scenario varies for the different environments, in accordance with the architecture of the environment. We start with an Environment A that is the foundation for all other environments. The main goal of this thesis is to try to determine the best way to build an ontology based environment, including filtering and matchmaking. To do this, we have developed our own performance test framework that is used to test the performance in the different environments. In the end, we discuss our results and try to give an indication on which environment is the best, with a view on performance in filtering and matchmaking.
