InfoFinder Mobile: A user interface for search on mobile devices
Abstract
This thesis describes the design and implementation of InfoFinder Mobile, a user interface for search on mobile devices. The main focus of the thesis is the design of a usable user interface that accomodates the constraints that are present on today's mobile devices. A form of discount usability engineering is used, with particular focus on functionality, usability testing, and continuous use of design heuristics for evaluation. Multiple user interface designs are created and tested using paper mock-ups, and the final design is implemented as a fully functional client for the Windows Mobile platform.
