dc.description.abstract | Maintenance costs account for a large part of the total cost of energy in offshore wind farms. The influence of uncertainty in the repair duration on the production losses due to maintenance is investigated as a novel approach. This is done by using a distribution for the repair times and calculating the expected delay due to sea state. The production loss is calculated based on the mean repair times and compared to the production loss with the repair time distribution. The findings are that the expected production loss is higher when taking the distribution of repair times into consideration. These findings are supported by a case study and the results for three different turbine subsystems are compared. | nb_NO |
