dc.description.abstract | With the aim of elevating the educational outcome of practical laboratory work in an engineering context, this thesis proposes a complete review of how to build, analyze, simulate and control a serial two-tank system (STTS). This is then demonstrated by building, analyzing and controlling a physical STTS prototype.
Further, the thesis presents and demonstrates how modern technology and pedagogical models can be combined to better convey knowledge and link theory and practice. A solution is proposed though an educational concept of four learning modules and several instructional videos, all directly related to the STTS. A proof of concept for such a learning module was then produced, and evaluated through a small pilot test.
Finally, the thesis presents and demonstrates a methodology called design thinking, being used to solve the human-centered challenges of creating a pedagogical tool. | |
