Abstract
In the project work, the candidate has made a preliminary design of a concrete semi-submersible floater for supporting the DTU 10MW wind turbine. In particular, the focus was the design of pontoons and columns of this braceless semi-submersible, including an arrangement and dimensioning of reinforcement steel bars and concrete material of the cross-sections. The semi-submersible has one central column supporting the wind turbine and three side columns, connected at the bottom by pontoons.

In the thesis work, the candidate should address both global and local loads acting on the pontoons and the columns, and carry out an extensive structural analysis for design check of this concrete semi-submersible floater.
