Event Image Detection with Knowledge Base Lookup

Abstract

This thesis explores the correlation between tags, time and locational information to detect events occurring amongst the images collected on Flickr. By clustering the data and searching DBpedia for events based on tags, the events emerges from descriptive information from user-based DBpedia pages.
