SimMap

Abstract

NORSK: ”simMap” står for ”School Information Media Map”. Vår oppgave har vært å lage en kartsøkefunksjon og en ”virtuell vandring” for Høgskolen i Gjøvik. Denne kartfunksjonen har blitt utviklet for web. På søkefunksjonen kan man søke etter romnummer og lærere. Det vises da et kart både i 2D og 3D som viser veien til rommet/læreren man har søkt på. Det vil i tillegg bli vist informasjon om rommene og lærerene. I tillegg har vi utviklet en ”virtuell vandring” i 3D hvor man kan vandre virtuelt rundt i byggene ved Høgskolen. Alt dette er integrert i en webside.

ENGELSK: “simMap” is the initials for ”School Information Media Map”. Our task was to create a map with search engine and a “virtual walk” for Gjøvik University College. This mapfunction has been developed for web. By using the search engine, you are able to search for a room or a teacher. A 2D or 3D map will be visible, which has an arrow that shows you the direction to the chosen destination. The search will also show information about the chosen room or teacher. We have also developed a “virtual walk in 3D format”, where the user can virtually walk in the university buildings. All this functionality is integrated on a website.
