Sea levels are rising faster today than they have in many decades. This is due to climate change and global warming in the world today. Sea level rise is getting a lot of attention today because of all the flooding and consequences it has around the world. For a long time, Norway has not noticed these changes due to the land uplift from the previous Ice Age, which is still ongoing. But now the sea level has started to rise faster than the land is rising, so this is a danger that must be taken seriously. This assignment presents how sea level rise can affect the infrastructure and buildings in Stryn municipality. With the help of Geographical Information System, I have carried out modeling of various sea level rise scenarios and made calculations of the potential extent of damage. The results of this analysis were used to assess whether Stryn municipality is an exposed area when it comes to sea level rise. Furthermore, the need for ROS analysis and measures that can be decisive for whether infrastructure and buildings will be able to survive the sea level rise that may come are discussed.
