Brødrene Løvehjerte - Mulighetsrommet i møte et døvt og et hørende publikum

Abstract

Bacheloroppgaven “Brødrene Løvehjerte -mulighetsrommet i møte med et døvt og et hørende publikum” utforsker hvordan en teaterforestilling kan tilrettelegge for å nå ut til både døve og hørende tilskuere på én gang. For å undersøke dette tar oppgaven utgangspunkt i én teaterforestilling med tegnspråk som scenespråk: Brødrene Løvehjerte av norske Teater Manu og svenske Riksteatern Crea. Oppgaven tar i bruk metoden forestillingsanalyse med utgangspunkt i Michael Eigtved sine analysemodeller. Analysen legger særlig vekt på sensoriske virkemidler, som lyd og lys, samt hvordan disse kan brukes på en effektiv måte for å lettere nå ut til et sammensatt publikum. I tillegg til dette tar oppgaven også for seg tematikk rundt døvhet, hørselshemming og tegnspråk, samt teater både med og uten tilrettelegging for hørselshemming. Oppgaven stiller spørsmål ved mulighetene for denne type tilrettelegging, samtidig som den diskuterer, reflekterer og ser på dette gjennom et kritisk blikk.

The bachelor thesis “The Brothers Lionheart - the space of opportunity in meeting a deaf and a hearing audience" explores how a theater performance can be adapted to reach both deaf and hearing audiences simultaneously. To research this, the thesis focuses on one theater production that uses sign language as its stage language: "The Brothers Lionheart" by Norwegian Teater Manu and Swedish Riksteatern Crea. The thesis employs the method of performance analysis based on Michael Eigtved's analytical models. The analysis particularly emphasizes sensory techniques, such as sound and light, and how these can be used effectively to better reach a diverse audience. In addition to this, the thesis also addresses themes surrounding deafness, hearing impairment, and sign language, as well as theater both with and without accommodations for hearing impairment. The thesis raises questions about the possibilities of this type of accommodation while also discussing, reflecting, and examining this through a critical lens.
