dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Research shows that it is common to use in-situ simulation as a method to develop competence for nurses. Few studies describe the use of in-situ simulation as a learning method in the bachelor’s program of nursing. Aim: To explore the experiences nursing students have with participating in-situ simulation and which aspects in in-situ simulation may be important for the development of nursing competence. Method: The study is qualitative. It was conducted six focusgroup interviews with 23 nursing students. Results: In-situ simulation helps students experience learning and development. Different roles in simulation such as marker, nurse, teacher and facilitator have an impact on the student’s learning and experience. The debrief-phase helps to promote nuances through reflection which results in the development of clinical competence. Conclusion: In-situ simulation in clinical practice contains various aspects that are important for the development of nursing competence in bachelor students in nursing.
