Formidlinga av andre verdskrig i Gudbrandsdal Krigsminnesamling

Abstract

Historia kjem til syne på mange ulike måtar og arenaer i samfunnet i dag. Museum er ein slik arena der fortida kan bli tilgjengeleggjort og stadfesta gjennom utstillingar av historiske hendingar og gjenstandar. Musea har ein høg grad av fridom når det kjem til utval og utstilling og har viktige oppgåver kring å bevare, forvalte og formidle delar av fortida. På bakgrunn av dette har dei eit stort samfunnsansvar som på mange måtar er med på tydeleggjere kva historie eit samfunn ynskjer å hugse og minnast, og samstundes kva dei ynskjer å leggje til sides. Denne masteroppgåva ser på korleis Gudbrandsdal Krigsminnesamling på Kvam formidlar historiene om andre verdskrig i Gudbrandsdalen. I fyrste omgang ser oppgåva på korleis krigen blir framstilt i museet og kva verkemidlar dei nyttar seg av. I andre omgang ser oppgåva på kva perspektiv og historier som blir presentert og kva som blir lagt til sides. For å svare på desse spørsmåla blir det nytta relevant teori knytt til historiefaglege og museologiske omgrep, som historiebruk, historiemedvit og minnekultur. Oppgåva viser at Gudbrandsdal Krigsminnesamling har eit tydeleg lokalt motstandsperspektiv og at dette verkar som ein raud tråd gjennom heile museet. Her er då eit sentralt poeng at det lokale motstandsperspektivet er presentert i eit mykje større omfang enn det lokale landssvikarperspektivet.

History becomes visible through a variety of methods and arenas in today´s society. Museums function as an arena where the past is made accessible and strengthened. Museums have a great deal of freedom when it comes to doing selection and display and they have significant tasks like preserving, managing and presenting parts of the past. In light of this they have a great responsibility that in many ways is part of clarifying what kind of history a society wants to remember, and at the same time what kind of history it wants to put aside. This master’s thesis analyzes how Gudbrandsdal Krigsminnesamling communicate the stories from the second world war in Gudbrandsdalen. Firstly, the thesis looks at how the museum presents the war and what kind of effects they use. Secondly, the thesis will look at what perspectives and histories are presented in the museum and what they put aside. Here, relevant terms and literature related to historiographical and musicological will be applied, such as usage of history, historic consciousness and memory culture. This thesis argues that Gudbrandsdal Krigsminnesamling has a clear perspective on the local resistance and that this works as a red line throughout the museum. An important remark here is the fact that the perspective of the local resistance is more represented than the perspective of the local treason.
