This project is about urban planners in Trondheim municipality and their perspectives on NTNU's campus consolidation in Trondheim. The task investigates the perspectives urban planners have on campus consolidation and how these perspectives align with the preliminary plans for campus consolidation. To investigate this, interviews were conducted with urban planners at the planning office in Trondheim municipality. The data from the interviews were analyzed using thematic analysis. The thematic analysis identified four themes: sustainability, functional division, recruitment and retention, and knowledge and business development. These themes were then discussed in relation to the research question. The perspectives on campus consolidation among urban planners in Trondheim municipality turned out to have an overarching postmodernist perspective. Additionally, there were other, more specific perspectives (in descending order of importance): compact city model, inclusive city model, attractive city model, and urban entrepreneurship. The perspectives of urban planners aligned well with the plans for campus consolidation, although there were challenges and potential plans that would have fit better.
