Gatene i Trondheim Midtby i 2050

Abstract

I de siste 25 årene har gatene i Trondheim midtby endret seg mot å prioritere kollektivtrafikk og gående over biler. Dette vil ikke endres i nærmeste framtid, men spørsmålet er da hvor langt går denne utviklingen, og hvordan vil gatene i midtbyen i Trondheim se ut i 2050? Gjennom å se på historie, planer og intervju med politikere ser jeg på utviklingen og ser at kjøremønsteret vil endres mye for personbiler. Kjøremønsteret endres gjennom blant annet planer om å stenge Prinsens gate og Kongens gate for personbiler, og å gjøre gjennomkjøring umulig for privatbiler. Gatebruksplanen fra 2021 legger tanken om å innføre et sektorisert kjøremønster som lar folk kjøre inn, men ikke gjennom. Planen selv kaller dette ambisiøst, og både FrP og Høyre uttrykker at de er varsomme overfor å stenge midtbyen for gjennomkjøring. SV og MDG er veldig for bilfri midtby, og MDG spesielt kommer til å kjempe for å fjerne bilene. Framtiden til Trondheim midtby vil bli preget av fortetting, prioritering av kollektivtrafikk, flytting av parkeringsplasser og større fokus på å tilrettelegge arealet i byen til gående og syklende.

In the last 25 years the streets of downtown Trondheim have startet to prioritize public transportation and the people walking over cars. This will not change in the nearest future, but the question is how far will this evolution go, and how will the streets of downtown Trondheim look in 2050? Through looking at the history, plans and interviewing politicians I seek to understand the evolution and see how the driving pattern will change for passenger cars. The driving pattern will change through plans to close Prinsens gate and Kongens gate for passenger cars, and through making driving though downtown impossible for passenger cars. Gatebruksplanen from 2021 puts forward the idea of ​​introducing a sectorized driving pattern that allows people to drive in, but not through.The plan itself calls this change ambitious, and both FrP and Høyre express that they are vary of closing the ability to drive through downtown. SV and MDG are very much for a car free downtown, and MDG espesially will fight to remove the cars. The future of downtown Trondheim will be shaped by urban densification, prioritization of public transport, relocation of parking spaces and a greater focus on shaping the space in downtown to walking people.
