Minoriteter i samhandling med barnevernet

Abstract

Denne oppgaven handler om enslige mindreårige flyktninger og hvilke utfordringer og muligheter de treffer på i møtet med barnevernet i Norge. Ved hjelp av en metodedel beskrives hvordan jeg gjennom et litteraturstudium har innhentet relevant teori og knyttet det opp mot sentrale begreper for temaet. Dette være seg ulike barnevernsfaglige prinsipper, barnevernets rolle, kultur og traumer. I drøftingsdelen av oppgaven ses sentrale funn opp mot problemstillingen, i lys av utfordringer og muligheter. Avslutningsvis i oppgaven konkluderes det med hvordan økningen av enslige mindreårige flyktninger kan løses i forhold til økt bemanning, ulike økonomiske hensyn og hvordan barnevernet gjennom økt kunnskap og kompetanse best mulig kan tilrettelegge og følge opp de sårbare enslige flyktningene.

This thesis is about unaccompanied minor refugees and which challenges and possibilities they come across in the encounter with child protective services in Norway. With the help of a methodology part, this thesis describes how I conducted a literature study to collect relevant theory and link it up to key concepts for the topic. These include different child welfare principals, the role of child welfare services, culture and trauma. In the discussion part of the assignment, key findings are looked at considering the research question, in terms of challenges and possibilities. At the end of this thesis the conclusion regards how the increase in unaccompanied minor refugees can be managed regarding increased staffing, various economic considerations and how the child welfare services through increased knowledge and proficiency, can best accommodate and check in on the vulnerable unaccompanied refugees.
