Abstract

Studien belyser håpets dobbeltrolle i sosialt arbeid, både som en støttende kraft og en potensiell barriere. Den analyserer hvordan håp kan styrke klienter i møte med vansker, og hvordan sosialarbeidere kan bruke håp som verktøy for å fremme endring og motstandsdyktighet hos enkeltpersoner og i samfunnet. Oppgaven dykker ned i håpets kompleksitet. Den undersøker hvordan håp kan fungere som en beskyttende faktor, men også belyser dets mer tvetydige sider, inkludert "falskt håp" og håpets mørke sider i kontekster preget av vold i nære relasjoner. For å navigere i disse komplekse problemstillingene, argumenterer oppgaven for en balansert tilnærming til håp. Den anerkjenner at håp kan motivere og støtte positive forandringer, men advarer også mot blind optimisme som kan føre til stagnasjon eller tilbakefall. Kritisk refleksjon er derfor avgjørende. Det fremheves at sosialarbeidere spiller en viktig rolle i å holde håpet levende, både for seg selv og for sine klienter. Dette motvirker utbrenthet og fremmer effektiv sosialfaglig praksis. Avslutningsvis oppfordrer oppgaven til videre forskning og utdanning som integrerer håp mer eksplisitt i sosialt arbeid. It recognizes that hope can motivate and support positive changes, but also warns against blind optimism that can lead to stagnation or relapse. Critical reflection is therefore essential. It is emphasized that social workers play a key role in keeping hope alive, both for themselves and their clients. This counteracts burnout and promotes effective social work practice. In conclusion, the thesis encourages further research and education that integrates hope more explicitly in social work. This will strengthen the profession's ability to handle the complex and often contradictory aspects of hope in a constructive manner.
