Tarkovsky og Tid: Andrei Tarkovskys bruk av tid i Stalker og Offeret

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven er en undersøkelse av to av Andrei Tarkovksys filmer som har som mål å se på hvordan regissøren bruker tid som virkemiddel i sine filmer. Filmene hans kategoriseres ofte under undersjangeren slow cinema, og jeg skal se på to eksempler fra hans filmografi, Stalker, og Offeret, for å få et representativt syn av hans bruk av tid som virkemiddel i hans filmer. Ved å se på disse to filmene med et analytisk blikk, dykker jeg dypt inn i alle aspekter av hans bruk av tid, og ser hvordan de samspiller med andre filmatiske virkemidler som blir tatt i bruk, og effektene som oppstås av dette.

This bachelor′s thesis is an examination of two of Andrei Tarkovsky′s films, with the goal of examining how the director uses time as a device in his films. His films are often categorized under the subgenre of slow cinema, and I will look at two examples from his filmography, Stalker, and The Sacrifice, to get a representative look of his use of time as a device in his films. By viewing these two films through an analytical lens, I´ll dive deep into all aspects of his use of time, and how they interact with other cinematic devices applied, and the effects caused by this.
