dc.description.abstract | This bachelor′s thesis is an examination of two of Andrei Tarkovsky′s films, with the goal of examining how the director uses time as a device in his films. His films are often categorized under the subgenre of slow cinema, and I will look at two examples from his filmography, Stalker, and The Sacrifice, to get a representative look of his use of time as a device in his films. By viewing these two films through an analytical lens, I´ll dive deep into all aspects of his use of time, and how they interact with other cinematic devices applied, and the effects caused by this.
