This bachelor's thesis examines how recent Hollywood crime thrillers differ from those of the so-called "New Hollywood" movement and explores the factors that have led to this. I have conducted film analysis where I compare The French Connection (Friedkin 1971) and The Driver (Hill 1978) with Drive (Refn 2011) and Sicario (Villeneuve 2015). I have looked at film historical moments, perspectives, and numbers to understand the changes in Hollywood when it comes to crime thrillers.
