Drøftingen viser at medvirkning forstås noe ulikt. This task is about participation. The thask looks at how participation is understood, as well as challenges with participation related to an investigation phase in child welfare. A literature review has been used as a method, and by using searches in google and oria, i have found relevant research in the field. Syllabi and other relevant sources of theory have also been used. The issue has been discussed in light of research, as well as theory about the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the legal framework. In the discussion, I have discussed how participation is understood from the perspective of child welfare employees and children and young people. After that i have discussed the challenges of participation. The discussion shows that participation is understood somewhat differently. Child welfare officers make some assessments of indirect participation in light of the child's best interests, but children and young people want more direct participation. The discussion also shows that there are several factors that create challenges with participation in an investigation phase. These are short deadlines, individual characteristics of the employee and organisational factors.
