Bergkunsten lenge leve

Abstract

Denne oppgaven tar for seg utfordringer med forvaltning av bergkunst i Norge. Oppgaven deles inn i to hoveddeler, hvor første del har fokus på kulturminneforvaltning, bergkunst som kulturminne og utfordringer knyttet til forvaltning av bergkunst. I andre del setter oppgaven et fokus på bergkunsten i Alta og skal diskutere og sammenligne to saker som gjelder funn av bergkunst. Sakene som skal diskuteres er funnene av helleristningene i Hjemmeluft i løpet av 1970-årene, og funnet av helleristningene i Kongsvikfjæra i 2022. Sakene har flere likheter og ulikheter, og formålet med sammenligningen er å belyse utfordringer knyttet til forvaltning av bergkunst til ulike tider.

This thesis deals with challenges with the management of rock art in Norway. The assignment is divided into two main parts, where the first part focuses on cultural heritage management, rock art as cultural heritage and challenges related to the management of rock art. In the second part, the thesis focuses on the rock art in Alta and will discuss and compare two cases concerning the discovery of rock art. The cases to be discussed are the discoveries of the petroglyphs in Hjemmeluft during the 1970s, and the discovery of the petroglyphs in Kongsvikfjæra in 2022. The cases have several similarities and differences, and the purpose of the comparison is to shed light on challenges related to the management of rock art at different times.
