| dc.description.abstract | I denne oppgaven har vi gjennomført en lønnsomhetsanalyse av restauranten Bula Bistro i perioden 2018-2022. Vi har fokusert på den økonomiske utviklingen ved å bruke nøkkeltall for lønnsomhet, likviditet, finansiering og soliditet. I tillegg har vi benyttet en strategisk analyse i form av en SWOT-analyse, som har gitt oss muligheten til å undersøke de interne og eksterne faktorene som kan ha påvirket restauranten og lønnsomhetsutviklingen deres.
Innledningsvis presenterer vi bedriften vi har valgt, Bula Bistro, samt tema og valgt problemstilling. Deretter presenteres relevant teori med to hovedfokus, regnskapsanalyse og strategisk analyse. Her har vi valgt å presentere alle nøkkeltallene vi har fokusert på samt en beskrivende del om den strategiske teorien. I neste kapittel beskriver vi den metodiske tilnærmingen til oppgaven vår. Her legger vi vekt på valgene og hvilke avgrensninger vi har foretatt i gjennomføringen av oppgaven, herunder valg av undersøkelsesdesign, innsamling av data. Avslutningsvis i metodekapitlet reflekterer vi rundt valgene og konsekvenser av valgene i lys av validitet og reliabilitet.
I analysedelen går vi gjennom alle nøkkeltallene for Bula Bistro, og deretter har vi valgt å sammenligne nøkkeltallene for lønnsomhet med to andre aktører som opererer i det samme markedet. Avslutningsvis inkluderer vi den strategiske analysen for å finne årsaker til lønnsomhetsutviklingen til bedriften.
Helt til slutt samler vi alt i en konklusjon hvor vi forsøker å se funnene fra regnskapsanalysen opp mot funnene i den strategiske analysen for å gi et svar på problemstillingen. Vår analyse viser at lønnsomheten til Bula Bistro i utgangspunktet er god, og at de opererer i et vanskelig marked med mange konkurrenter. Likevel klarer de å holde lønnsomheten oppe – også i tider hvor bransjen har opplevd betydelige restriksjoner. | |
| dc.description.abstract | In this assignment, we have conducted a profitability analysis of the restaurant Bula Bistro in the time period 2018-2022. We have focused on the financial development by using key financial figures for profitability, liquidity, financing and solvency. In addition, we have mobilized a strategic analysis, more specifically a SWOT analysis, which gives us the opportunity to address the internal and external factors that may affect the restaurant and their profitability development.
This bachelor assignment starts off with an introduction of the chosen topic and research question. Relevant theory is then presented with two main focuses, accounting analysis and strategic analysis. We have chosen to present all the key financial figures we have focused on as well as a explanatory part about the strategic theory. In the next chapter we describe the methodological approach to our assignment. Here we emphasize the choices and the limitations we have made in preparing the problem, choice of survey design, collection of data. Finally, in the method chapter, we reflect on the choices and consequences of the choices in the light of validity and reliability.
In the analysis section, we review all the key financial figures for Bula Bistro. And to get a better perspective of profitability, we have chosen to compare the key figures for Bula Bistro with two competitors on the market in the same industry. Finally, we include a strategic analysis to find possible causes for the profitability of the company.
At the end, we collect everything in a conclusion where we try to combine the findings from the accounting analysis with the findings in the strategic analysis, in order to answer the research question. Our analysis shows that the profitability of Bula Bistro is good, and that they operate in a difficult market with a lot of competitors, but they still manage to keep the profitability up – even in times when the industry has been subject to strict of restrictions. | |
