havvindprosjekter.
usikkerhet i transporteringstid for skipene. Simuleringsresultater for
de to andre strategiene.
dc.description.abstract | This thesis aims at modelling the logistics of a floating offshore wind farm, to assess
how different project strategies impacts the duration and costs. To increase the number
of floating offshore wind projects, cost-effective and competitive solutions needs to be
found and implemented. Therefore, the complexity in floating offshore wind projects is
investigated and a framework for calculating duration for different project strategies was
established.
This was done by designing a discrete- event simulation of the projects in the Sigma modelling language. Before designing the model, an AON network was constructed to reduce
complexity and visualize dependencies between different activities in the project. The
model took previous weather data and seasonality into account, and handled uncertainty
in transport duration. After the model was constructed, it was simulated with Monte-Carlo
simulation, depending on wind farm size and project strategy. Simulation results enabled
the calculation of associated costs based on chartering estimates.
The results indicate that there could be significant benefits in costs and duration associated with combining the location for integration port and fabrication yard. A strategy
with multiple location and a HLCV for mating of pre-assembled turbine with floater can
compete on duration with the combined port approach. From the results of the simulation, it can also be suggested that an offshoring strategy will increase the project duration
considerably compared to the two other strategies.
To conclude, the study provides insight in considerations for optimizing logistics in a
floating offshore wind project, and also emphasizes how choice of project strategy can
reduce project duration and costs to increase competitiveness.
