A main objective of this report has been to contribute toward further digitalisation and standardisation of the petroleum industry. In particular, the report explores: • How ideas from Industry 4.0 and the AAS (asset administration shell) framework can be applied within the context of IEC 61511 and functional safety for the process industry • Which data element to include in an information model for functional safety and how such a model can be structured and maintained throughout its lifecycle. • How an information model for functional safety relates to and interacts with more overall information models also involving other users and disciplines.
