Multivers: Samspillet Mellom Identitet og Internett

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven har som formål å utforske hvordan bruken av det filmatiske virkemiddelet multivers kan belyse samspillet mellom identitetsutvikling og internett. Gjennom en næranalyse av filmen Everything Everywhere All at Once (Kwan og Scheinert 2022) diskuterer jeg hvordan feministisk og skeiv filmteori utdyper forståelsen av kjønn og seksualitet. Resultatene av analysen viser at filmen illustrerer godt både de utfordringene og de mulighetene en aktiv bruk av internett har for menneskers selvoppfatning, den utvider vår sosiale forståelse av kjønn og seksualitet, samtidig som den synliggjør begrensingen som fortsatt finnes i samfunnet på disse områdene.

This bachelor thesis aims to explore to explore how the use of the cinematic tool multiverse can illuminate the interaction between identity constructions and the internet. Through a close analysis of the film Everything Everywhere All at Once (Kwan og Scheinert 2022), I discuss how feminist and queer film theory deepens the understanding of gender and sexuality. The results of the analysis show that the film illustrates well both the challenges, and the opportunities active use of the internet has for people's self-identity, it expands our social understanding of gender and sexuality, while at the same time highlights the limitations that still exist in society regarding these topics.
