Abstract
 
 
In recent years the pursuit of sustainable development is rapidly gaining importance due to the severe changes in our ecosystem. As a result, sustainability is a key issue that must be addressed, and steps must be taken to improve sustainable growth. Most sustainable frameworks for measuring industrial performance primarily focus on supply chain and production, and little attention is given to asset management. Motivated by this scarcity, this master thesis suggests approaches and methods improve industrial sustainability and asset management.

In today’s competitive business environment, accelerating asset management and sustainable initiatives are critical for every organization to maintain its position in the industry. As a result, the primary motive of this master thesis is to empower a better knowledge and the significance of sustainability and asset management in an organization. The thesis focuses on sustainability and strategies to improve sustainability performance and ameliorate maintenance management, foster physical asset management and proposes a maintenance management model and an effective and efficient physical asset management program. In addition, this paper intends to recognize the value of maintenance in the overall life of a physical asset and methods to extend the asset’s useful life. Moreover, the thesis also aspires to provide a comprehensive explanation of digitalization and several new technological developments to improve asset management in an organization.

Overall, this master thesis aims to add knowledge of sustainability, physical asset and maintenance management and provides insights and assistance for businesses striving to attain sustainable results and effective asset management measures.
