Utfordinger barneverntjenesten møter i arbeid med minoritetsfamilier

Abstract

Denne oppgaven skal prøve å belyse problemstillingen om utfordringer barneverntjenesten møter i arbeid med minoritetsfamilier. Oppgaven skal ta for seg noen av disse utfordringene som både minoritetsfamilien og barneverntjenesten står ovenfor i sitt samarbeid med hverandre. Dette for å prøve å gjøre profesjonelle klar over disse og bli mer opplyst om hva som fremmer samarbeid og minsker utfordringer. I oppgaven ser man blant annet på ulike livssyn på blant annet barn og oppdragelse, hvor oppgaven belyser individualistisk livssyn og kollektivistisk livssyn. Oppgaven tar for seg hva som fremmer og hemmer kommunikasjon og samhandling, samt hvordan holdninger, verdier og forforståelse påvirker de vurderingene barneverntjenesten tar. I hovedsak vil man se på hvordan mange faktorer påvirker relasjonen, samarbeidet og til slutt hvordan man vurderer hva som er barnets beste.

This thesis will try to shed light on the issue of challenges the child welfare service faces in working with minority families. The assignment will deal with some of these challenges that both the minority family and the child protection service face in their cooperation with each other. This is to try and make the professionals aware of these chalanges and to become more informed about what promotes cooperation and reduces challenges. In the thesis, we will take a look at thigs such as different outlooks on children and upbringing, where the thesis sheds light on individualistic outlooks on life and collectivist outlooks on life. The assignment examines what promotes and inhibits communication and interaction, as well as how attitudes, values and preconceptions affect the assessments made by the child protection service. In essence, one will look at how many factors affect the relationship, the collaboration and finally how one assesses what is in the child's best interests.
