BENEFITS REALIZATION IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

Abstract

Denne avhandlingen undersøker kunnskapen om realisering av fordeler i byggeprosjekter i en global sammenheng, med fokus på metoder og forskjeller mellom Norge og Spania. Studien undersøker den nåværende forståelsen og verktøyene som brukes i begge land for å identifisere, måle og spore fordeler gjennom prosjektets livssyklus. Med en omfattende litteraturvurdering og en undersøkelse rettet mot norske og spanske organisasjoner som er involvert i byggeprosjekter, undersøker avhandlingen utfordringene og suksessfaktorene som påvirker realiseringen av fordeler i begge land. Ved å gjennomføre denne undersøkelsen blant en rekke organisasjoner, er målet å utføre en komparativ analyse, identifisere likheter og finne potensielle områder for forbedring i hvert land. Dataene fra undersøkelsen vil bli analysert, noe som vil tillate en komparativ studie av kunnskap knyttet til realisering av fordeler i byggeprosjekter. Videre, ved å sammenligne de to landenes kunnskap og identifisere vellykkede metoder, vil jeg prøve å realisere en veiledning for realisering av fordeler for de organisasjonene som ønsker å begynne å introdusere det i sine prosjekter.

This thesis investigates the knowledge of benefits realization in construction projects in a global context, with a focus on the methodologies and differences between Norway and Spain. The study explores the current understanding, and tools used in both countries to identify, measure and track benefits during the project life cycle. With a comprehensive literature review and a survey targeted at Norwegian and Spanish organizations involved in construction projects, the thesis examines the challenges and success factors influencing benefits realization in both countries. By conducting this survey among a variety of organizations, the aim is to conduct a comparative analysis, identify similarities, and find potential areas of improvement in each country. The data obtained from the survey will be analyzed, allowing for a comparative study of the knowledge related to benefits realization in construction projects. Furthermore, by comparing the two countries' knowledge and identifying successful methods, I will try to realize a benefits realization guidance for the organizations who want to start introducing it in their projects.
