Barnefattigdom som bidragsyter til marginalisering

Abstract

Barn som vokser opp i fattigdom opplever flere ulemper sammenlignet med jevnaldrende. Dårlige økonomiske forhold begrenser tilgangen deres til ulike ressurser, som igjen hemmer deres utviklingsprosess. Dette resulterer i små forskjeller, som over et livsløp preget av en rekke selvforsterkende risikoprosesser, føre til sosial eksklusjon. denne bacheloroppgaven skal jeg se på sammenhengen mellom barnefattigdom og det sosiale fenomenet marginalisering. For å undersøke dette temaet, har jeg valgt følgende problemstilling: Hvordan bidrar barnefattigdom til ulike marginaliseringsprosesser, og hvilke konsekvenser har dette for barna som vokser opp i lavinntektsfamilier?

For å svare på disse problemstillingene, skal jeg se på hvordan barns levekår i et samspill utgjør deres ressurser, og fremtidige muligheter. Så skal jeg se på hvordan begrensede økonomiske ressurser, korrelerer med lavere deltakelse i fritidsaktiviteter, lavere utdanning og nedsatt- fysisk og psykisk helse. Jeg skal så se på hvordan dette fører til marginalisering. For å gjennomføre denne undersøkelsen, har jeg brukt metoden litteraturstudie.

Children growing up in poverty are at a disadvantage compared to their peers. Poor economic conditions limit their access to different resources, which puts restraints on their development process. This results in small diffreences, that can through a range of self-reinforcing procesess lasting over the course of a lifetime, result in their social exclusion. In this bachelor thesis i will be looking at the relationship between child poverty and the social phenomenon marginalization. To study this subject, i have chosen the following issue: How does child poverty contribute to different marginalization processes, and which impact do they have on the children growing up in low income households?

To answer these questions, I am going to look at how childrens living conditions work together, making up their resources and future opportunities. Then i will look at how low economic resources correlates with low participation in extracurricular activities, low education and impaired health. I will then be looking at how this results in marginalization. To conduct this research, i will be using the method literatury study.
