Sammenhengen mellom utdanningsnivå og arbeidsledighet

Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven har vi undersøktsammenhengen mellom utdanningsnivå og arbeidsledighet. Analysen baserer seg på minste kvadraters metode (OLS) som økonometrisk metode. Data for den avhengige variabelen, arbeidsledige, er hentet fra NAV, mens variablene for utdanningsnivå er hentet fra SSB. Videre vil vi utvide modellen med flere kontrollvariabler, også hentet fra SSB, for å kunne besvare problemstillingen. Oppgavens konklusjon er at utdanning er en viktig faktor for å redusere arbeidsledigheten i de norske kommunene, spesielt høyere utdanning.

In this bachelor's thesis, we have examined the relationship between level of education and unemployment. The analysis is based on ordinary least squares regression (OLS) as an econometric approach. Data for the dependent variable, unemployment, has been obtained from NAV, while the variables for educational attainment are from SSB. Furthermore, we will expand the model by including additional control variables, also obtained from SSB, to address the research question. The conclusion of the thesis is that education is an important factor in reducing unemployment in Norwegian municipalities, especially higher education.
