Studentøkonomi En empirisk undersøkelse av studenters økonomiske utvikling fra 2010 til dags dato/2023

Abstract

I løpet av de siste årene har det vært mye snakk om en økende inflasjon i samfunnet og at kjøpekraften til folk går ned siden prisene på nødvendige varer som mat har økt kraftig på kort tid. De fleste menneske i samfunnet merker dette på økonomien og en av gruppene som dette går utover er studenter. Denne oppgaven omhandler hvordan disse samfunnsøkonomiske fenomenene påvirker studenter sin økonomi, spesielt når det kommer til studietid og inntekt. Formålet med oppgaven er å undersøke hvordan inflasjonen og den dårligere kjøpekraften påvirker studenten, hvilke faktorer som er de mest påvirkende og hvordan studentene måler seg opp mot studenter fra tidligere år. Forskningen som gjøres i oppgaven er gjort på bakgrunn av to tidligere undersøkelser som er gjennomført på feltet, Levekårsundersøkelsen fra 2011 og Eurostudent fra 2016. Fra disse er det hentet spørsmål som er blitt satt sammen til en undersøkelse som er blitt sendt ut til studenter som studerer nå i 2023. Videre så blir funnene i den produserte undersøkelsen satt opp mot svarene fra tidligere år. Funnene fra undersøkelsen viser at det ikke er like lett å skulle finne sammenhenger på temaet som først antatt. Fra funnene så er det vanskelig med de variablene som brukes å opprette en sammenheng som gir en god forklaring på situasjonen til studentene.

During the last few years, there has been a lot of talk about increasing inflation in society and that the purchasing power of people is decreasing since the process of necessary goods such as food have increased sharply in short time. Most people in society notice this, and one of those groups is the students. This thesis deals with how the socio-economic phenomena effects students’ finances, especially when it comes to study time and income. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how inflation ant the poorer purchasing power affect students, which factors are the most influential and how the students compare themselves to studies from previous years. The research that is carried out in this this thesis is based on two previous surveys that has been carried out in the field, “Levekårundersøkelsen” from 2011 and “Eurostudent” from 2016. From these two surveys, questions have been taken out and complied in to an survey that has been sent out to the students that are studying now in 2023. Furthermore, the findings in the survey are compared to the answers from previous years. The findings from the survey show that it is not as easy to fins connections on the topic as first thought. It is hard with the variables from the survey to provide good connections and provide explanations on the students’ situation.
