Abstract

Flere barn vokser opp i to hjem i dagens samfunn, og mange barn vokser opp i hjem preget av høyt konfliktnivå. Barn som lever i hjem preget av fastlåste konflikter blir ansett som en sårbar gruppe, og disse familiene kan være avhengig av hjelp fra andre til å finne gode løsninger som kan bidra til å bedre hjemmeforholdene. Besvarelsen vil dermed se mer på temaet foreldrekonflikt og har følgende problemstilling: Hvordan påvirker foreldrenes konflikter barnet, og hva er utfordrende i arbeid med foreldrekonflikter? Besvarelsens metode er systematisk litteratursøk og det vil i det videre arbeidet bli brukt relevant teori, vitenskapelige artikler og statistikk for å presentere oppgavens overordnede tema og problemstilling. Funnene i de utvalgte artiklene viser til at flere barnevernsarbeidere syns fastlåste foreldrekonflikter er komplekse og krevende, og mange vegrer seg til å arbeide med disse. En annen utfordringer er knyttet til det å få til gode vurderinger når bekymringsmeldingene bunner i «ren» foreldrekonflikt. Foreldrekonflikter presenteres som tids- og ressurskrevende, samtidig som det også trekkes frem utfordringer knyttet til å ha fokus på barnet, da barnets interesser og behov ofte kan komme i andre rekke bak foreldrenes egne agenda.

Several children grow up in two homes today, and several children grows up in homes characterized by a high level of conflict. Children who live in homes characterized by deadlocked parental conflicts are considered a vulnerable group, and these families may be dependent on help from others to find good solutions that can contribute to improv the home situation. This assignment will therefor look more at the topic parental conflict and has this following issue: how to the parent’s conflict affect the child, and what is challenging in working with parental conflicts? The assignments method is a systematic literature search ang in the further work, relevant theory, scientific articles, and statistics will be used to present the thesis’ overall theme and issue. The findings in the selected articles show that several child welfare workers consider deadlocked parental conflicts to be complex and demanding, and many dreads to work with these. Another challenge is linked to getting good assessments when the reports of concern are rooted in "pure" parental conflict. Parental conflicts are also presented as time- and resource-consuming, while challenges related to focusing on the child are also highlighted, and the child’s interest and needs often can come in second row behind the parents’ own agenda.
