Barnevernets rolle i foreldrekonfliktssaker

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven handler om foreldrekonfliktsaker i barnevernet, hvor jeg drøfter hvilken rolle barnevernstjenesten har når foreldrenes konflikt kan gå utover omsorgen til barnet. Metoden som er anvendt i oppgaven er litteraturstudie, hvor jeg har funnet relevant litteratur og tidligere forskning for å svare på problemstillingen.

Arbeidet med foreldrekonfliktsaker har tidligere blitt ansett som utenfor barnevernstjenestens ansvarsområde. Nå er det ikke uvanlig at barnevernstjenesten mottar bekymringsmelding som angår foreldrenes konflikt, dermed vil det være nyttig med mer kunnskap om denne type saker. I denne oppgaven drøfter jeg arbeidet med foreldrekonflikter i barnevernet og hvilke utfordringer som kan oppstå, med vanskelige grensedragninger mellom barnevernsloven og barneloven. Videre tar drøftingen utgangspunkt i barnets stemme og hvorfor det er viktig at barnet selv har mulighet til å medvirke, før jeg tilslutt drøfter hvordan barnevernstjenesten kan hjelpe foreldrene med å påvirke tilknytningen til barnet ved råd og veiledning. I avslutningen blir det oppsummert noen sentrale poeng ved studien.

This bachelor´s thesis revolves around parental conflict cases in the child welfare system, where I discuss the role of the child welfare services when parental conflict can impact the well-being of the children. The method employed in this thesis is a literature review, where I have gathered relevant literature and previous research to address the thesis issue.

Working with parental conflict cases har previously been considered outside the scope of the child welfare services responsibilities. However, it is now not unusual for the child welfare services to receive reports of concerns related to parental conflict. Therefore, it would be useful to gain more knowledge about this type of situation. In this thesis, I discuss the work with parental conflicts in the child welfare system and the challenges that may arise, including the difficult boundary lines between The Child Welfare Act and The Children Act. Furthermore, the discussion is based on the importance of the child´s voice and why it is crucial for the child to have the opportunity to participate. Finally, I explore how the child welfare survives can assist parents in influencing their attachment to the child through advise and guidance. In the conclusion, I summarize some key points form the study.
