Moderne norske bands bruk av digitale musikkteknologiske verktøy

Abstract

I denne oppgaven er det gjennomført en undersøkelse med 24 moderne norske band som lager populærmusikk i dag, om deres teknikker og bruk av digitale musikkteknologiske verktøy i musikken sin. Undersøkelsen har som hensikt å avdekke bandenes framgangsmåte når de lager musikk, bruk av studio og hjemmestudio, generelt om deres produksjonsvalg, bandenes forhold til endring i timing / kvantisering, deres forhold til endring av pitching, og egne normer for bruk av musikkteknologiske verktøy. Informasjonen fra undersøkelsen blir brukt til å lage musikk som tester ut hovedmomenter fra resultatene i undersøkelsen.

In this bachelor thesis, a survey involving 24 Norwegian bands has been conducted. This survey does not only cover the modern bands' process of making popular music, but also about their techniques and use of digital music technology tools in their music production. The purpose of this survey was to uncover the bands' approaches when making music, use of studio and home studio, generally about their production choices, the bands' relationship to changes in timing / quantization, their relationship to changes in pitching, and their own rules for the use of music technology tools. The information that was collected from this survey has been utilized to produce music that explores key aspects derived from the results of the survey findings.
