| dc.description.abstract | I denne oppgaven har vi gjennomført en lønnsomhetsanalyse av bedriften Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS i perioden 2018-2021. Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS er en handelsbedrift i Trondheim som selger skips- og fiskeutstyr til både fritidsfiskere og yrkesfiskere.
Gjennom en regnskapsanalyse har vi sett på hovedtrekk i regnskapet for de aktuelle årene, samt nøkkeltall knyttet til soliditet, likviditet, finansiering og lønnsomhet. Vi har også gjennomført en sammenliknende analyse med de to konkurrerende bedriftene Skitt Fiske AS og Industri & Marine-Diesel AS. Til slutt har vi gjennomført en strategisk analyse med utgangspunkt i SWOT, og med noen elementer fra Porters fem konkurransekrefter.
I innledningen presenteres bakgrunnen for valg av oppgave, samt problemstillingen. Bedriften presenteres også i korte trekk. I teori-kapittelet presenteres relevant teori knyttet til regnskapsanalysen og den strategiske analysen. Videre begrunnes problemstillingen ytterligere i metode-kapittelet. Valg av undersøkelsesdesign, datamateriale og utvalg av enheter presenteres også her, og oppgavens validitet og reliabilitet diskuteres fortløpende.
Analyse-kapittelet utgjør hoveddelen av oppgaven. Her forsøker vi å besvare problemstillingen ved å hente inn datamateriale og analysere dette. I regnskapsanalysen benytter vi blant annet tall fra Proff.no for å se på utviklingen i lønnsomhet. Gjennom Benchmark-analysen sammenlikner vi tallene til Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS med konkurrentenes tall. Regnskapsanalysen er beskrivende av natur, mens den strategiske analysen er forklarende. Den strategiske analysen benyttes altså for å forklare funnene i regnskapsanalysen. Her har vi blant annet benyttet intervju for å besvare problemstillingen.
Til slutt konkluderer vi på bakgrunn av analysen. Gjennom regnskapsanalysen kommer vi frem til at Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS har god soliditet. Også likviditeten til bedriften vitner om en god betalingsevne. Bedriftens nøkkeltall innen finansiering indikerer en sunn finansiering. Analysen av lønnsomheten til bedriften, viser en positiv utvikling i perioden, og en særlig forbedring i 2020. I den strategiske analysen ser vi nærmere på årsaker til forbedringen i lønnsomhet. Her var noen forklaringspunkter blant annet koronapandemien med en økt interesse for både fiske og friluftsliv. En annen sentral faktor var utviklingen og oppdateringen av nettbutikken som skjedde i 2020.
Oppgaven har også tatt for seg en komparativ analyse av andre butikker i samme bransje, for å se om de også har hatt samme utvikling. Ved å se nærmere på noen nøkkeltall hos Industri & Marine-Diesel AS og Skitt Fiske AS kunne vi avdekke at utviklingen til Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS var bedre enn konkurrentene. Avslutningsvis kommer oppgaven frem til at Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS burde beholde den driften de har, for å opprettholde den gode utviklingen. | |
| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, we have carried out a profitability analysis of the company Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS in the period 2018-2021. Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS is a sales company in Trondheim that sells ship and fishing equipment to both recreational and professional fishermen.
Through an accounting analysis, we have looked at the main features of the accounts for the relevant years, as well as financial key figures relating to solvency, liquidity, financing and profitability. We have also carried out a comparative analysis with the two competing companies Skitt Fiske AS and Industri & Marine-Diesel AS. Finally, we have carried out a strategic analysis drawing on SWOT, and with some elements from Porter's Five Forces.
In the introduction, the reasoning of our choice of thesis is presented, as well as the research question. The company is also briefly presented. In the theory chapter, relevant theory related to the accounting analysis and the strategic analysis is presented. Furthermore, the research question is further justified in the research methods chapter. The choice of research design, data material and selection of units is also presented here, and the validity and reliability of the assignment is continuously discussed.
The analysis chapter forms the main part of the thesis. In this part, we try to answer the research question by gathering data and analyzing it. In the accounting analysis, we use, among other things, figures from Proff.no to look at the development in profitability. Through the Benchmark analysis, we compare the financial key figures for Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS with the competitors' figures. The accounting analysis is descriptive in nature, while the strategic analysis is explanatory. The strategic analysis is therefore used to explain the findings in ohe accounting analysis. Here we have, among other things, used interviews to answer the research question.
Finally, we conclude on the basis of the analysis. Through the accounting analysis, we come to the conclusion that Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS has good solidity. The company's liquidity also testifies to a good ability to pay. The company's key figures in financing indicates healthy financing. The analysis of the profitability of the company shows a positive development in the period, and a particular improvement in 2020. In the strategic analysis, we take a closer look at the reasons for the improvement in profitability. Some explaining factors were the corona pandemic, which lead to an increased interest in both fishing and outdoor life. Another key factor was the company's development and update of the online store that took place in 2020.
We also did a comparative analysis of other stores in the same industry, to see if they have had the same development. By looking more closely at some financial key figures at Industri & Marine-Diesel AS and Skitt Fiske AS, we were able to reveal that the development of Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS was better than the competitors. Finally, the thesis concludes that Skibs- & Fiskeriutstyr AS should retain the operations they have, in order to maintain the good development. | |
