dc.description.abstractThe behaviour of the distribution system is continuously changing with higher penetration of distributed generation and increased electrification, thus requiring new measures for automation, monitoring and protection of the system. This drive towards a digitalised system is made possible by the utilisation of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), because of which the system is becoming a Cyber-Physical Distribution System (CPDS). Interdependencies arise due to the resulting increased complexity of the system, which need to be analysed from a reliability perspective. This paper presents a novel Monte Carlo Simulation method for quantifying the adequacy of a CPDS, and helps gain a better understanding of the impact of cyber-physical interdependencies on the system adequacy. The proposed methodology is applied in the case study of a modified IEEE 69-bus distribution system.en_US
