Samarbeid om å førebyggje fråfall i vidaregåande skule

Abstract

Temaet for denne masteroppgåva er korleis vi kan forstå NAV og vidaregåande skular sitt samarbeid om å førebyggje fråfall i vidaregåande skule. Fråfall i vidaregåande skule er eit sosialt fenomen som dei siste åra har fått stadig større merksemd. Ein har sett at antallet ungdommar som vel å avslutte sin vidaregåande opplæring, fortsette å vere på eit nivå som verken politikarar eller velferdssamfunnet kan sjå seg fornøgde med. På bakgrunn av dette har instansar som NAV og vidaregåande skular fått eit større ansvar for å utvikle løysingar som kan motverke at ungdom står utan formell studiekompetanse frå vidaregåande.

Den metodiske tilnærminga til dette forskingsprosjektet er kvalitativ, og har basert seg på djupneintervju med 3 informantar frå NAV og 2 informantar frå vidaregåande skular i Trønderlag Fylke. Den kvalitative tilnærminga har vore induktiv, kor funn og refleksjonar frå informantane har hatt stor betyding for oppgåva sin utforming og diskusjon.

Oppgåva sin problemstilling er: Korleis kan vi forstå NAV og vidaregåande sitt samarbeid om å førebyggje fråfall, og korleis kan ein hjelpe ungdom til å tileigne seg kompetanse? Problemstillinga har hatt eit gjennomgåande fokus i oppgåva, og det har vore eit poeng at problemstillinga har vore nokså open for tolking. Gjennom forskingsfunn som har kome frå informantar, har målet vore å få fram mest mogeleg truverdige refleksjonar og diskusjonar av oppgåva sin overordna problemstilling.

The theme for this master thesis is how we can understand NAV (The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration) and High Schools/Upper secondary Schools collaboration on the prevention of dropouts. Prevention of dropouts is a social phenomenon, that in later years has gotten more attention because of the longer-term consequences it represents, not only for the students but also for the welfare state`s development. The number of students that chooses to dropout, continue to be on a level that neither politician nor the welfare state can be satisfied with. With this as the background, institutions as NAV and High Schools have received a responsibility to prevent the social phenomenon that is dropouts, to develop further.

My methodological approach to this master thesis, is qualitative, and is based upon qualitative interviews with 3 informants from NAV and 2 informants from High Schools in Trønderlag County. The qualitative approach has been inductive, where finds and reflections of the informants have been of big importance for the development of the thesis.

The main research question for the master thesis has been this: How can we understand NAV and High Schools collaboration to prevent dropouts, and how can they help students to graduate from High School. The research question has had a special focus through the thesis, and it stands as a point that the research question has been sort of open to interpretation. Through research finds sampled from the informants, the final goal has been to get the most honest reflections to analyse and discuss for the thesis research question.
