Er samfunnskostnadene for pårørende til personer med demens bærekraftig i fremtiden?

Abstract

Målet med denne bacheloroppgaven er å svare på problemstillingen «Er samfunnskostnadene for pårørende til personer med demens bærekraftig i fremtiden?». For å svare på problemstillingen har vi brukt befolkningsframskrivinger til å anslå kostnadene og økonomisk teori for svare på om samfunnskostnadene er bærekraftig eller ikke.

Vi har studert relevant litteratur og brukt økonomisk teori for å belyse problemstillingen. Vårt hovedfunn er at samfunnskostnadene knyttet til pårørende til personer med en demenssykdom ikke er bærekraftig i 2050. I analysen vår har vi gjort oss antagelser og hensyn som kan sette begrensninger for gyldigheten av analysen. Vi har i oppgaven inkludert noen tanker for hvordan man kan jobbe videre med dette tema og problemstillingen.

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to answer the research question "Are the costs to society for caregivers of people with dementia sustainable in the future?". To answer the research question, we have used population projections to estimate the costs and economic theory to answer whether the societal costs are sustainable or not.

We have studied relevant literature and used economic theory to cover the research question. Our main finding is that the societal costs associated with caregivers of people with a dementia disease are not sustainable in 2050. In our analysis, we have made assumptions that may place limitations on the validity of the analysis. In the thesis we have included some thoughts on how to work further with this topic and this research question.
