Oppgaven drøfter datering og proveniens til objektet med hjel av en ikonologisk analyse og en stilkritikk. Her sammenlignes objektet sammen med andre gjenstander laget i fra samme tidsperiode. I tillegg kommer oppgaven til å drøfte funksjonen til objektet, med å sette den i et større historisk perspektiv. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This bachelor thesis examines the object T184, a silver knife sheath, which is part of the Vitenskapsmuseet’s archaeological collection. The thesis discusses dating and provenance of the object with the help of an iconological analysis and a style critiqu. Here the object is compared with other objects made from the same time period. In addition, the thesis will discuss the function of the object, by putting it in a larger historical perspective. | |
