Abstract
A dramatic presentation and critical reflection on the self-portrait, written as a conversation between the reader, author and the photographed alter ego. The title “Empire of Light” is a direct reference to the work of Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte, a painting that has the power to illuminate ideas and wonder.
