| dc.description.abstract | This project research has been a development from my own artistic practice, which consists of two works in the amount of 108 each collection, captures my daily encounters with the general public through the mediums of analog photography and document the ephemeral and impermanence nature landscape within the urban living through the mediums of watercolor live painting.
My attachments to these encounters are expressed through repetition - set within an urban landscape. This repetition is a medium that I use in order to express my attachments to these encounters within an urban landscape. This form of repetition can also be observed in the movement of 'folding’ according to his book “ The fold”. A fold is not only a repetitive bend within a page or paper but it can also be portrayed as ‘a bend in a layer of rock under the earth's surface caused by movement.’ This same movement, which is portrayed beneath the earth’s surface, is the same ritual that I perform throughout my daily recordings of the urban landscape around me. I bend, fold and repeat this same process until it becomes a ritual. The overall purpose of the repetition and the fold is to ultimately find inner peace. This thesis will be an exploration of our urban environment, the ephemerality, impermanence, and complexity of life. The text explores the journey of finding one's inner peace through interactions with daily routine and examines how the process of ‘folding’ can be seen as a similar repetitive pattern, such as our daily routines. | |
