dc.description.abstract | This bachelor thesis examines some possible challenges that the child welfare service may face related to work in foster cares. The focus of the thesis is on the biological principle and the child's participation. The method that has been used is almost a literature study. The thesis is based on theory and research in child welfare, developmental psychology, legal guidance, foster cares and biology. The discussion points to three different challenges: When parents raise a case concerning the return and cancellation of the care orders, the child welfare worker perceives children and contact after a care order. The results show that the foster child needs stability in care to be able to settle in the foster home, that children have less opportunity for participation if the child welfare worker sees the child as vulnerable and that contact with their parents after a care order can give the child continuity, but also other reactions.
