Den glemte gruppen - Pårørende og medavhengige til personer med rusmiddelproblematikk

Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven tar for seg pårørende som den glemte gruppen når rusmiddelproblematikk står i fokus. Jeg utforsker begrepet medavhengighet og dets betydning for pårørende, samt belastninger og konsekvenser som kan forekomme av å være pårørende. Belastninger som kommer i form av konsekvenser relatert til liv og helse, i tillegg til stigmatisering og fordommer fra samfunnet. Videre ser jeg på hvilke faktorer som påvirker bistand til pårørende. Oppgaven bygger på allerede eksisterende litteratur for å belyse tematikken. Rus som et sosialt problem rammer ikke bare individet, men også samfunnet og menneskene rundt. For å belyse tematikken tar jeg i bruk teoretikerne Urie Brofenbrenner og hans bioøkologiske modell, samt Aaron Antonovsky med sin teori om salutogenese herunder opplevelse av sammenheng. Med teoriene som grunnlag, og tilleggslitteraturen som oppgaven bygger på, drøfter jeg på hvilke måte pårørende og medavhengige blir påvirket av å være et familiemedlem til en med rusmiddelproblematikk.

This bachelor thesis addresses relatives as a forgotten group when drug related issues is in focus. I explore the concept of codependency and its significance for relatives, as well as the strains and consequences that occur from being a relative. Stresses in the form of consequences related to life and health, in addition to stigma and prejudice from society. Furthermore, I look at the factors that affect assistance to relatives. The thesis is based on already existing literature to shed light on the topic. Drugs and addiction as a social problem affects not only the individual, but also society and the people around it. To shed light on the topic, I use the theorists Urie Brofenbrenner and his bioecological model, as well as Aaron Antonovsky with his theory of salutogenesis, including the sense of coherence experience of context. With the theories as a basis, and the additional literature on which the thesis is based, I discuss in what way relatives and codependents are affected by being a family member of someone with a drug related issue.
